Day One

It is now thursday morning in Tokyo, which feels strange since I last woke up in the US on Tuesday morning. Dimitar and i are settled in our hostel in Japan and I am now using a computer in the lobby. It is difficult to type, because it keeps trying to turn my writing into Japanese characters. We have been taking lots of good pictures, but I cant Figure out how to upload them using this computer, so it will be a little longer before I can upload to this blog. The people here are very courteous and everything is clean. Most people seem to speak at least some English, which has been helpful in navigating. However, the streets here are laid out in a maze--nothing has an address numbers, and there is no grid. All of the streets merge at odd angles, so I think we will end up getting lost quite a bit. Food is also going to be an adventure. Most of the restaurants dont have English labels on their food, so we have to point at what looks good on the picture menu. Ill post more soon!
